People know us here in Gali No-5 near Connaught Place because we’ve been around for quite a while now. If you walk past Bikaner Sweets, you will see exactly where we sit. It’s a very busy spot in Delhi, so there is always a lot of noise from the traffic outside, which is actually good because that is what people have to learn to deal with when they first start driving. We spend most of our days sitting in the passenger seat of a car, watching the side mirrors and helping people not to stall their engines in the middle of a crowd. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. Just a small place where people come to sign up for their classes and talk about their schedules. We get all sorts of students, from young kids who just turned eighteen to older folks who finally decided it was time to learn. Sometimes the Delhi heat makes the car cabins feel like ovens, but we keep at it regardless. Usually, we are out on the roads for hours at a time, going through the gears and explaining how the clutch works for the hundredth time that day. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from the morning until the sun goes down. Most of our day is spent navigating the tight lanes around here. Everyone knows everyone on this street, and we just try to keep things moving. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know these roads well.
