Jagdeesh Prasad & Sons has been located at Wz-246 in Nangal Raya on Jail Road for a long time. It started as a small family effort and it still feels that way when you walk inside. The shop is filled with all sorts of hardware and random items that have accumulated over the years. We don't have a modern layout with bright lights. Instead, we have wooden counters and shelves that have seen better days but still hold everything together. People know us in this part of Nangal Raya because we’ve been here through all the changes on Jail Road. It’s a noisy area, and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes customers come in just to ask for directions, and we don't mind. We spend a lot of time counting out small parts or cutting wire to the right length. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. There’s always a bit of a mess behind the counter with old ledgers and pens lying around. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is just done by memory or written down on scraps of paper. It’s just a practical, local shop where we try to have what the neighbors need for their houses. We keep things simple and don't try to sound like something we aren't.
