We are located over in the Jhilmil Industrial Area, right on the GT Road at A 5/6. Being in an industrial zone like Shahdara means there is always a lot of noise from the machines and the trucks passing by outside. Our space is more of a workshop than an office. We have desks tucked into corners where the paperwork gets done, but most of the action happens on the floor with the tools and the engineering projects. It gets quite hot in the summer months because of the high ceilings and all the metal around. Most of the staff has been working here for years, so we all know how the machines prefer to be handled. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints and measuring parts for different jobs that come in. It is not the cleanest environment, as there is always a bit of oil or metal shavings somewhere, but that is expected in this line of work. Lunch breaks are usually spent at the small tea stall down the road or sitting on the crates talking about what needs to be finished by the end of the week. We do not have a big reception area or anything like that. If someone visits, they usually just walk right into the middle of the work. It is a practical setup that works for what we do every day. We stay until the last job is done and the machines are finally turned off.
