Our workplace for Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corp. Ltd. is located in the Irctc Corporate Office on the 11th Floor of Statesman House. The building sits at B-148, Barakhamba Road, right in the middle of a very busy part of the city. It’s a tall building, and we usually spend a good few minutes every morning just waiting for the lifts to take us up to our floor. From the 11th Floor, you can see a lot of the traffic below, but mostly we are just looking at piles of paperwork or our computer screens. It’s a busy office environment, but it feels like any other regular place once you’re actually inside. There are rows of desks, stacks of files, and the constant sound of phones ringing throughout the day. Barakhamba Road is always crowded with people rushing to their own jobs outside. We don’t have a fancy or poetic way of describing what we do here. We just handle the various tasks that come across our desks. It’s a big operation, but in this specific office, we just focus on our own sections. This floor has been our workspace for a long time now. It isn't like what you see in the movies; it’s just a lot of steady work and regular meetings. Sometimes the tea lady comes around with the trolley, and that’s usually a nice break for everyone. We don’t use marketing talk because we don’t really need to. We just work behind the scenes at Statesman House.
