You’ll find us at 21, Dsidc, over in Scheme-2 of Okhla Phase-2. It’s an industrial area, so it’s always got something going on and trucks moving about throughout the day. We work with skins and leather. It’s messy work sometimes, to be honest. The smell of the raw materials is something you get used to after a few days of being here. We spend a lot of our time checking the quality of what comes into the shop from our suppliers. If it’s not right, we just can’t use it for the orders we have. Our team is quite small. Most of the guys have been here for years and years. They know the texture of a good hide just by feeling it with their eyes closed. We don’t have a fancy showroom for customers. It’s more of a warehouse feel inside the building. There are stacks of material everywhere you look. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment arrives, it gets a bit chaotic for a while. Okhla is a very busy place to be. The traffic is a nightmare during the morning and evening rush. But it’s where the work happens. We just put our heads down and get through the day. We don’t use big words to describe what we do here. We just shear and process skins here at Shearing Skins Pvt Ltd. It’s a trade we’ve learned over a long time. Some days are long, especially when deadlines are tight. We grab lunch from the local food stalls nearby.
