Impressions Overseas

Amrit Nagar is a quiet little pocket in South Extension-I, and our office is right there at 43-A on the lower ground floor. Being in a basement means we don't get much sunlight, but it keeps the place cool during those really hot Delhi summers. We do a lot of overseas work, which mostly involves a lot of coordination and making sure the paperwork is exactly right. It can be a bit of a headache when things get stuck at the port or if there’s a delay we didn’t expect. We aren't some big multinational with hundreds of employees. It's just a few of us down here making sure things happen. The stairs leading down to the office are a bit narrow, so we have to be careful when moving boxes in and out. Most of our day is spent at our computers or talking to people on the other side of the world. It’s funny how you can be in a small room in South Extension and be dealing with someone thousands of miles away at the same time. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy coffee machine. We usually just get tea from the guy at the corner. It's a simple operation, really. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay on top of the shipping schedules. It’s steady work, and we’ve been at it for a while now without needing much more than a reliable internet connection.
