We have our office at No. 102-A in Pal Mohan Plaza. It’s right on D. B. Gupta Road in Karol Bagh, which means it’s always loud and full of people outside. Karol Bagh is a hectic place to work, but it’s where everything happens. We handle a lot of overseas stuff, mostly moving goods from one place to another. Our desks are usually buried under piles of shipping documents, customs forms, and yellow sticky notes. It’s a lot of coordination on the phone, talking to people in different ports or warehouses. The office isn't very large, so we all sit pretty close to each other. You can hear every conversation, which can be a bit much when things get stressful. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars and maybe a map. We’ve been in this building for a long time, and we know the tea guy downstairs by name. Working in international trade is mostly about waiting for emails and then rushing to get things on a ship. It is not as glamorous as it sounds. It is just a lot of logistics and making sure the numbers on the invoices match the stuff in the boxes. We stay busy and we try to keep our heads down and do the work right without too much talk. It’s a long day, but we get things where they need to go eventually.
