We are based in the Statesman House building on Barakhambha Road. It’s a huge, round building that everyone in Delhi knows. Our office is up on the tenth floor, specifically in the B1001 to 1014 section of Building 29. Looking out the window, you see the metro trains and all the people rushing toward the center of the city. Our daily work is centered around organizing big exhibitions and trade shows in various cities. There is a lot of talking to vendors and making sure everyone has what they need for their specific booths. The office has a lot of open space but it’s mostly filled with folders and event plans for the coming year. We drink a lot of tea while we sit through long planning sessions at the main table. It gets pretty hectic when a show date is approaching and the pressure is on. You’ll see people running around with clipboards or talking on their phones about shipping schedules and cargo. It is not a fancy life, just a lot of coordination and making sure the electricity and wifi will actually work at the venue. After work, most of us just head down to the metro station to get home. The elevators in this building are always busy, so you often have to wait a while to get down. We have some photos from old events on the walls, but mostly it is just work. It keeps us busy.
