Govt Primary School

This Govt Primary School is located at D 6 in the Dj Market area of Mangolpuri. We are on the first floor, which is a bit different from some other schools around Delhi - 110083. Being in a market means it is never really quiet. You can hear the vendors and the shoppers while the kids are in their classes. The entrance is a bit narrow, but it opens up once you get upstairs. We have several rooms dedicated to the younger primary students. The walls are painted in bright colors, though some of it is peeling away at the corners. There are rows of small benches where the children sit. We have a small staff room where we keep all the teaching materials and the registers. It gets a bit hot in the summer months, but we have fans that keep the air moving. The location is very central for families living in Mangolpuri. They just walk through the market to drop their kids off. We don't have a big playground, so the kids usually stay within the building or the immediate area. It is a very local school, and we know most of the people who walk past our door every day. Working on the first floor of a market building has its challenges, but it is just how things are here. We focus on teaching the basic subjects and keeping the day organized. It is a humble place with a lot of noise. We have to be careful about the noise levels when the market is at its peak in the late afternoon.
