If you head over toward Sector 59, right near Khan Market, you’ll find Masjid Nursery at B 36. We’ve been growing plants here for quite some time. It’s a green spot in the middle of a lot of concrete. We spend most of our time out in the dirt, checking on the saplings and making sure the flowers are getting enough water. It’s not an easy job, especially when the weather gets really hot or too rainy, but we enjoy it. We have all sorts of plants, from small herbs to bigger trees that people want for their yards. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most people just walk in because they saw the green leaves from the road. We talk to folks about what kind of soil they have and what might grow best in their balcony. Sometimes we have to move heavy pots around, which is a bit of a workout. It’s a simple life here. We open early in the morning when the air is still cool. You’ll usually see one of us with a hose or a trowel in hand. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just like plants and we like seeing them grow well in someone else's garden. It’s a local place where we know the soil and the seasons. That’s really all there is to it at Masjid Nursery. We just keep planting and hope for the best each season.
