Gautam Sales Corporation

Gautam Sales Corporation is tucked away at B-1/3 in Vishnu Garden. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it’s a bit quieter than being out on the main highway, which I actually prefer. Our shop is basically a large room filled with whatever we are selling that week. It might be household goods or plastic items, depending on what I can get a good deal on from the distributors. The space is a bit tight because I try to stock as much as possible. I usually have to move three boxes just to find one item for a customer, but I know where everything is hidden. My neighbor’s dog usually sits by the door in the shade, and he doesn't bother anyone. I spend most of my day sitting on a wooden stool near the counter, waiting for the bell to ring. Vishnu Garden is a nice place to work because people are friendly and they stop to chat even if they aren't buying anything. The rain sometimes leaks through the front door if it’s a heavy storm, so I keep some old rags handy to soak it up. It’s not a perfect place, and I’m always behind on my filing, but it’s my business. I like being the one who decides when to open and when to go home for dinner. It’s a lot of responsibility but it feels better than working for someone else.
