Fashion Emporium

The shop is at number 65 in the Municipal Market on Janpth. If you know Janpth, you know it gets crowded and loud with all the people walking by. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. Every morning starts with opening up the heavy shutters and trying to get the dust off the glass counters. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things pretty high on the shelves just to make everything fit. There’s a specific way we have to fold the clothes so they don’t get too wrinkled, though it’s a constant battle. The air conditioner is old and makes a humming noise that you eventually just stop hearing after an hour. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners nearby while we wait for people to come in. Sometimes we just sit near the entrance to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of standing around and helping people find their size in the middle of a pile of shirts. The floor tiles are a bit chipped in the corner where we move the heavy boxes, but nobody really notices. We usually eat our lunch in the back room, which is really just a tiny space behind a curtain. It’s just a normal market life for us here, nothing too complicated or special about how we run things in this old building.
