Evergreen Infrawas Private Limited has its office up on the 11th floor at 50, Jawahar Lal Nehru Road. It’s a long way up, but the view of the city is alright when the windows are clean. We spend most of our time here dealing with the administrative side of infrastructure and housing. There is always a lot of paperwork to go through, and the phones seem to ring at the most inconvenient times. We aren’t a massive corporation with hundreds of employees. We are just a dedicated group of people trying to keep our projects on track. We handle a lot of the planning and the back-and-forth that goes into building stuff. It’s a lot of meetings and a lot of phone calls to suppliers. Sometimes the elevator takes forever, which is a bit of a pain when you are in a hurry. Our office is pretty functional, with just enough chairs for everyone and a lot of filing cabinets that are probably too full. We don’t really care about looking polished or sounding like we are in a movie. We just talk like regular people and try to get the work finished. It’s a busy environment and things can get a bit chaotic when several projects are happening at once. But we’ve learned how to manage it over the years. We just keep showing up and doing what needs doing for the job.
