East India Engg Company1 is over at 80, Baldeve Park in Preet Vihar. We are situated right near the Community Centre, so we are quite easy to spot. Preet Vihar is a well-known area in New Delhi. We have been doing engineering work from this location for quite a while. Our building is a bit older, but it serves us well. Inside, we have our equipment and some drawing boards. It is not a high-tech lab with white walls. It looks like a place where real work gets done. There are blueprints and tools scattered around the desks. We deal with various engineering tasks that come our way. Sometimes it is design work, other times it is more about fixing technical problems. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and small businesses. We see the same people walking past every morning. We don't do much in the way of promotion. Our name is on the gate and that is usually enough. The staff here is small but we have a lot of experience. We talk about the projects over tea. It is a very normal office life. We try to be helpful when someone comes in with a question. The traffic near the Community Centre can be a bit much in the evenings. We just finish up our work and head home like everyone else. It is a solid, everyday engineering shop. We’ve been here since the early days of this block and have seen many neighbors come and go.
