Design Concepts

Design Concepts is tucked away at K-803/4 in Mahipalpur. If you haven’t been here before, the lanes can be a bit confusing. Our building isn't very tall, and we share the space with a few other outfits. Inside, it’s usually a bit of a mess with sketches and samples lying around on different tables. We don’t really worry about having everything in a perfect line. It feels more like a workshop than a corporate office. There is always a faint smell of ink or glue depending on what we are looking at that day. The light from the window isn't great, so we have these old lamps we use to see the details better. We’ve got a small kettle in the corner for making coffee because nobody wants to walk all the way out to the main road every hour. The chairs are a bit squeaky, especially the one at the back desk. We spend most of our time staring at drawings or talking about how a certain material feels. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except when the fans are rattling. We don’t have a big staff, just a few people who have been here for years. It’s just how we like it—simple and focused on the work at hand at K-803/4. We don't do big meetings or presentations; we just sit around and figure things out until they look right.
