Our academy is situated at 633/18 on Joshi Road in Karol Bagh. If you know Delhi, you know how busy Karol Bagh is. There is always noise from the street and people walking by. Our place is usually full of students. They are all trying to learn how to do hair or apply makeup properly. There are mirrors everywhere and chairs that are always being moved around. It can get a bit messy with all the powders and hair clippings, but we try to sweep up as we go. The smell of different lotions and shampoos is always in the air. We have a few instructors who spend their time showing how to hold scissors or use a hairdryer. It is a very hands-on kind of place. We don’t have a fancy reception area with soft music. It is more like a workshop. People come here to get a skill so they can find work. Some of the equipment is a bit old, but it still works fine for practice. We take our lunch breaks in shifts because the space is small. Most of us go to the local stalls for a quick bite. It is a loud, busy, and hardworking environment. We have been here for a while and the locals know us. We just keep teaching and hope the students do well.
