We've been here at T-481/3A in Baljeet Nagar for quite a few years now. It’s right behind the Patel Nagar police station, so it’s easy to find if you know the area. Most days start early, usually before the sun is even fully up, because that’s when the trucks arrive with new loads of sand and bricks. We keep things pretty simple around here. There’s always a bit of dust on the floor and the phone rings more than it probably should. My cousin helps out with the accounts when he isn't busy elsewhere, and we mostly just try to get the orders loaded so people can get on with their construction work. Baljeet Nagar is a crowded place, and sometimes the narrow lanes make it hard for the bigger delivery vehicles to turn around, but we manage. You’ll see us out front most mornings checking the stock or talking to the drivers. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a yard with the stuff people need to build houses. Sometimes we run out of certain types of stone, and then it's a bit of a scramble to get more delivered from the quarry. People from around the neighborhood stop by to ask for advice or just to see what’s in stock. It gets loud with the traffic from the police station side, but you get used to it after a while. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
