Arora Building Material Store

Arora Building Material Store is at Shop No. B/86 in Mansarovar Garden. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. Most of our day is spent moving bags of cement or stacking pipes out front. It’s dusty work, and you definitely don't want to wear your good clothes here. We’ve got stuff piled up in every corner, and even out on the sidewalk sometimes when we’re extra busy. People from around the neighborhood stop by for whatever they need for their house repairs. We know most of the regulars by name now. It’s not a quiet job, with the trucks dropping off loads and the constant clatter of tools. Sometimes the tally at the end of the day doesn't quite match up, and we have to spend an extra hour figuring out where we missed a bag of sand. The office is just a small desk in the corner with a ledger and a phone that rings more than it should. We don't use any fancy computer systems for the stock; we just look at the shelves and know what we’re low on. It’s an old-school way of doing things, but it has worked for us for a long time. The tea stall next door is where we usually take our breaks. It’s just a simple life running a hardware store. We keep the doors open as long as there’s light.
