C M M Infotech is based in Mohammadpur at 401-K/128. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs to get to us. We’ve got computers everywhere, some opened up with wires hanging out and others waiting to be picked up. We handle repairs, software installs, and some networking stuff for the local offices. Mohammadpur is a crowded area, so our space at 401-K/128 is a bit of an escape from the noise. It smells like hot electronics and coffee in here. I started this with a friend from college. We don't have a big sign, just a small one by the door. Most people find us through word of mouth. We spend our days staring at screens or poking around inside laptop casings. The desks are cluttered with screws and screwdrivers. It isn't a polished office with glass partitions. It’s more of a workspace where things actually get done. Sometimes the internet goes down and we have to wait it out like everyone else. We have a small balcony where we take breaks. The neighborhood is full of small businesses like ours. We don’t use fancy jargon when talking to customers. We just explain what’s broken and how much it costs to fix it. It’s a quiet life, mostly just us and the machines.
