If you know Gandhi Nagar, you know how Hari Gali gets. We are right there in Subhash Mohalla at IX/6276. It’s a narrow street, very typical for East Delhi, and it’s always crowded with rickshaws and guys carrying bundles of cloth. Blue Arrow Fashion has been operating from this little corner for some time. We aren't a giant corporation with shiny glass windows. It’s more of a workspace where we deal with the everyday reality of the garment trade. The floors are often covered in threads and bits of paper. We started small and stayed here because it’s where all the action is in the textile market. You can hear the noise from the street all day long. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit around and talk until it comes back on. Our neighbors are all doing the same thing, so there’s a sense of community in this mohalla. We handle our own logistics and try to make sure things get sent out on time, even when the traffic is bad. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people just find us through word of mouth or by walking past the shop. It’s a practical way to live and work in Delhi. The morning tea break is probably the most important part of our day. We just take things as they come.
