Our office is situated at 1408 on Gurudwara Road in Kotla South Extension-1. It is a very busy area of New Delhi, and finding a parking spot around here is almost impossible most days. We are on a street that always has something going on, which makes the walk to work interesting. Inside, we deal with a lot of information and data services. It sounds complicated, but it’s mostly just a lot of careful checking and re-checking of records on our systems. The office is a bit cluttered with old files and spare cables, but we know where everything is. We have a few big windows that look out onto the road, though we usually keep the blinds pulled to stop the sun from hitting the monitors. The tea man comes by twice a day, which is something we all look forward to. We aren't a huge corporation with departments for everything; we just have a small group of people who have been doing this for years. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and it gets a bit stressful, but we just handle one thing at a time. We don't go in for fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just provide the services people ask for and try to make sure the data is right. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living in a part of the city that never seems to sleep or quiet down, even late into the evening.
