Bikash R Bhattacharya

Bikash R Bhattacharya is just me and a couple of folks here at Sansad Marg 95. It gets pretty busy around this part of town, especially with all the traffic coming through throughout the day. Most mornings, I’m at my desk by nine. We don’t have any of those fancy chairs or modern furniture, just some old wooden desks and a lot of files that keep piling up. If you walk past number 95, you might see us through the window or hear the old ceiling fan buzzing overhead. It’s an older building, but it stays cool enough even in the middle of summer. We handle a lot of different paperwork here, and the phone usually starts ringing before ten. Sometimes it’s quiet enough to hear the street noise outside, and other times it’s just a mess of sounds. I’ve been at this spot for a long time now. My neighbors usually drop by for a quick chat in the afternoon when things slow down a bit. It is not a big corporate setup at all. We just try to get through the long list of things to do before the sun goes down and we can head home. People around here know me by name because I’ve stayed put at this address for so many years. You won’t find any big glowing signs out front, just the number and my name on a small metal plate by the door. We stay late if we have to.
