We are located at shop number 8 in Meharchand Market, over in Lodhi Colony. This market has seen plenty of changes since we first arrived, but it still has a more relaxed feel than a lot of other places in the city. Our cafe is pretty basic. We have some tables inside and a little space where people can just sit and hang out for a while. We didn't really have a plan for the decor; we just put things where they seemed to work. The kitchen is fairly small, so we have to be careful about how many people are in there at once. Much of our day is spent cleaning up after the morning crowd and getting things ready for the evening. There is always a lot of washing up and wiping down surfaces to be done. We get a real mix of people coming through—locals who live in the colony, people from the offices nearby, and folks who are just out for a walk. We try to be friendly without being annoying. Some days the coffee machine doesn't want to work, or a delivery is late and we run out of something, but we just manage as best as we can. It’s a small operation, and we prefer it that way. Being at Meharchand Market feels like being part of a real neighborhood. We know the other shop owners and the people who walk their dogs past our door every afternoon.
