We're based out of the lower ground floor at No. I-1747 in Chittaranjan Park. AVANTI BUSINESS MACHINES LTD. has been operating from this basement space for some time now. It’s a bit cooler down here, which is nice during the Delhi summers. We deal with all kinds of office machines—photocopiers, printers, that sort of thing. The space is mostly filled with machines in various states of being fixed or tested. It’s not a shiny corporate office. We have wires running across some parts of the floor and stacks of manuals everywhere. Our technicians are usually out on calls, but there’s always someone here to handle things. Chittaranjan Park is a nice residential area, so it’s a bit of a contrast to the mechanical work we do downstairs. We don't have a big neon sign, just a small one by the entrance. We aren't big on marketing or fancy talk. If a machine is broken, we try to fix it. If someone needs a new one, we show them what we have. It’s straightforward. We’ve seen the technology change from big old analog machines to the digital ones we have now. We just keep learning as we go. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just focusing on the gears and the ink. We’re just a group of people who know business machines inside and out. The stairs down are a bit steep, so watch your step.
