Arvind Kumar

Being at 86 Tilak Marg means I am right in the middle of things. It’s a solid old building with thick walls that keep it relatively cool even when the Delhi sun is beating down. I have been Arvind Kumar at this address for quite a stretch now. The office doesn't have any chrome or glass partitions, just some old wooden furniture that has seen better days but is still sturdy. I like the history of this area. Walking to work in the morning, I see the same old trees and the same guards at the gates nearby. My daily routine is pretty set. I arrive, open the windows to let some air in, and start going through my mail. There is no big sign outside, just a small nameplate that is a bit tarnished. I don't believe in spending money on things that don't help with the actual work. Most of my day is spent on the phone or writing out documents. It can get a bit lonely sometimes, but there is always someone popping in to ask for directions or to deliver a package. I keep a jar of water on the side table for anyone who is thirsty. It is a humble way to earn a living, but I am satisfied with how things are going here on Tilak Marg. It is steady and familiar, which is exactly how I prefer my work environment to be.
