Altus Sporting

Altus Sporting is located at G 92 on the Lower Ground Floor in Kalkaji. Being in a basement-level shop means it stays a bit cooler than the street level, which is nice during the Delhi summers. You have to walk down a few steps to get to us. The walls are lined with shelves that are overflowing with different kinds of sports gear, from balls to rackets. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock delivered at once. There is a faint smell of rubber and new equipment that hits you as soon as you walk in. The lighting is all fluorescent, and sometimes the bulb in the back corner hums a little bit. We have a small counter where we handle the sales and talk to the regulars who come in from the neighborhood. Kalkaji is a busy area, so there is always someone walking by the stairs above. We do not spend much money on decoration; the equipment itself is the main thing you see. It is just a local spot for people to pick up what they need for their games. Altus Sporting is a small operation, and we like it that way. We spend our days restacking the shelves and helping folks find the right size or type of gear. It is a practical, no-nonsense shop for anyone around here.
