Akhtar Publication

Our office for Akhtar Publication is at Plot No. 2/3 in Nizamuddin. We are quite close to the Careem Hotel, which is a really good landmark because almost everyone in this part of town knows where that is. The smell of the food being cooked at the hotel sometimes drifts over here, which makes us all pretty hungry around lunchtime. Our place is very straightforward and simple. We have a lot of tall shelves and a few big tables where we spend our time sorting through everything we publish. Nizamuddin is a lively and historic area, and there is always something happening right outside on the street. We get a lot of visitors, some looking for specific book titles and others just curious about what we are working on. The office itself isn't very big at all, so we have to be quite careful about how we stack the boxes and papers so we don't run out of walking space. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for many years now. We know each other’s habits and how we like the work to be done. The lighting isn't the best in the world, but it is enough for the reading and writing we do. We don't bother with fancy signs or anything. People who need to find us usually know where to look. It is a busy life here, and we just keep our heads down.
