You can find us over in Amar Colony, which is part of Lajpat Nagar-IV. Our place, Abkasa Designer Apparels Private Limited, is at E-174 in the lower ground floor. Lajpat Nagar is always a hectic place to be, especially with the markets nearby. We’re tucked away a little bit, which is good for actually getting work done without too many distractions. Being on the lower ground floor means we have to be careful about the rain during monsoon season, but it's a solid space otherwise. We work on designer pieces, which means we spend a lot of time on the small details that people might not notice at first. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on the fabric. We have a few machines and a big table where we do the patterns. The staff has been with us for a long time, so we all know how each other works. We usually have tea together in the afternoons when the sun is at its peak. It’s a decent life here in South Delhi. We don’t do much fancy marketing; people usually find us because they heard about us from someone else. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping track of different designs. We try to keep things simple and just focus on making the clothes look the way they should. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do here in our little corner.
