Being in South West Delhi makes it a bit of a trek for some, but for us, it is just home base. We do couture work, which means a lot of detailed stitching and careful handling of delicate fabrics. The workspace isn't what you might imagine for fashion—it is a functional industrial unit. We have high ceilings and plenty of light, which helps when you are trying to see small stitches. There are piles of buttons, zips, and thread everywhere you look. We aren't really the type to have a fancy showroom; we prefer to stay in the back where the actual work happens. The air in Mayapuri can be a bit heavy with the smell of metal and dust from the other factories, but inside our walls, it is all about the textiles. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the cutting tables and the sewing stations. Our team is small but they know their way around a needle. It is a no-frills kind of place. We just care about making sure the garments are put together correctly. If you visit, you’ll probably find us covered in lint and drinking tea while we discuss the next design.
