Salma biriyani

Our shop is right on the main road in the Balajinagar area of Nellore. We are located right at the masjid center, which is a place that everyone around here knows. It stays very busy throughout the day, especially around the times when people are coming and going from the masjid. We have a simple shopfront where the big biriyani pots are kept. You can see the steam coming off them from the street. There isn't a lot of fancy seating inside, just some basic benches and tables for people who want to eat right away. Many of our customers just come to take food home to their families. The road outside is always noisy with bikes and autos passing by. We start our work early in the morning to get the rice and meat ready for the afternoon. It’s hard work and the kitchen gets very hot, but we are used to it by now. We don't use any fancy machines, just the same way we have always done things. People in Balajinagar know us by name and we know most of them too. It’s a very local business and we don't try to be anything else. We just cook the biriyani and sell it until the pots are empty. Some days we finish early and some days it takes longer. It’s just a normal part of life here at the masjid center for all of us.
