It’s a busy little spot, especially when classes are starting or letting out. The streets around here are narrow and you’ve got houses and small businesses all cramped together. You can hear the sounds of the town life right from the windows. Sometimes it’s the bells from a nearby temple or just the neighbor’s radio. We spend a lot of time in the office dealing with admissions and making sure the schedules are up on the board. The rooms are basic, with wooden benches that have seen a lot of use over the years. It gets really hot in Nellore, so we drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade during the afternoon. The staff here has a routine: we arrive, open up the gates, and start the day. It’s not the kind of place with a giant campus, but it serves the people living around Alluru Peta well enough. We see parents coming in to ask about their kids and we just talk to them like neighbors because most of us are. There’s a bit of a garden out front, though the plants struggle a bit in the summer sun. It’s a local place through and through, and we just do our jobs day in and day out without much fuss.
