Shri Swaminarayan High School

Located right on Sarigam Road in Umbergaon, Shri Swaminarayan High School is a place many people in this part of Valsad are familiar with. It is a busy area, especially with all the movement around the industrial zones, but inside the school gates, things are a bit more focused on the books. We have been operating here for quite a while now, giving the local kids a place to get through their high school years. The building itself is functional and has a lot of character, even if it’s not the newest structure in town. We have classrooms filled with desks that have been carved into by generations of students, which is just part of the history of the place. The playground gets a lot of use during the breaks, and you can always hear the sound of kids shouting and playing from the road. We don't spend much time worrying about being flashy. Instead, we just make sure the teachers are in their rooms and the students have their textbooks ready. Life in Umbergaon can be quite fast-paced, but the school stays a steady point for many families. We see the students grow up from awkward teenagers into young adults, and then they move on to whatever is next for them. It is a simple cycle, and we are just here to facilitate that process as best as we can in our little corner of the world. It’s a lot of work, but we like it.
