Chandan Steel

Our place is called Sweet Home, number 5, in Bhakti Nagar. It’s over in Solsumba, right near the Ambamata Temple on Gangadevi Road. We are in Umbergaon, which is part of the Valsad district. Chandan Steel has been around this neighborhood for quite some time. The area is fairly quiet compared to the bigger cities. We deal with steel products mostly. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at. It’s just where we store the stock and handle the sales. Having the temple nearby is nice, it’s a good landmark for people trying to find us. We get a lot of local folks stopping by. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Usually, someone tells a friend and they come over. It's a small team of us here. We spend the day moving metal and talking to customers. Sometimes the humidity in Valsad makes the work a bit tiring, but we keep at it. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We don't have any big corporate goals, just keeping the shop running and making sure we have what people need. It’s worked for us so far. We might not have the newest equipment in the world, but we know how to use what we have. It’s a decent living and we like the people around here. We just take things one day at a time.
