Sanjeeb Kumar Swain handles things for Chandan Steel Ltd from E-202 in the Kalpataru Housing Society. This is in Umbergaon, Valsad. It’s a bit different because our office is right inside a residential society. It makes for a quieter working environment than a factory floor. We handle a lot of the administrative and management side of the steel business from here. It’s mostly computers, ledgers, and phone calls throughout the day. We aren't some big faceless company. We are just people working out of an office in a place where we also live. The society is nice and it’s a bit of a walk from the main road. We don't have big signs outside. If you are looking for us, you usually have to know the flat number. We deal with a lot of coordination for the steel shipments and making sure the billing is right. It’s not the most exciting work, but it is necessary for the business to run. We’ve been based here in Gujarat for a long time. The team is small and we all know each other well. We just try to stay on top of the work without making things too complicated. It’s a practical arrangement that works for us. We don't have a receptionist, so we just answer our own phones. It keeps things direct and simple for everyone involved in the day-to-day operations.
