Standard Machine Tools

If you’re ever near Rabale Naka in the MIDC area, you might have passed by Standard Machine Tools. We’re located at Plot No -R 859, right near the Bhushan Hotel, which is actually a pretty good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time among all these factories. The area is always crowded with trucks and workers, especially around noon when everyone goes out for lunch. We spend most of our time dealing with various machine tools and parts. It’s dusty and noisy work, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. Our team is small, mostly people who have been in the trade for a long time and don't need to be told what to do twice. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that for visitors. Instead, we have shelves full of parts and a few workbenches that have seen better days but are still solid. The power cuts in this part of Rabale can be a real pain sometimes, but we just work around them and use that time to clean up. We don't make big promises, we just try to get the tools ready as requested by the people who come to us. It's about precision, even if our desks are a bit messy with paperwork and old blueprints that we still use. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the local news while we work on the machines. It's a decent living and we know our way around a lathe.
