Ks Reddy Model School

Being up on the 11th floor of the Proxima Building in Vashi is a bit different for a school. Most schools are on the ground with a big playground, but here we rely on the elevators and the view of Sector 30 A. It’s a busy spot near the station, so there’s always a rush of people coming and going from offices. Inside our space, it’s actually pretty quiet once the doors are shut. We have our classrooms lined up along the hallways. Sometimes it feels more like an office until you see the backpacks and hear the chatter during the break times. Managing a school in a high-rise has its own set of chores. We have to be careful about the lift timings and making sure everyone gets downstairs safely at the end of the day. The sunlight comes in really strong through the big windows in the afternoons, so we keep the blinds down mostly. The staff room is a small corner where we drink tea and talk about the kids. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations, just the usual charts and some drawings on the walls. It’s a practical setup for being in the middle of Navi Mumbai. You get used to the hum of the air conditioners and the sight of the trains passing by in the distance. It’s just how things are for us here in this building.
