Vss Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited operates out of Gala No. 97 in the Mahada Colony over in Ambad. It’s not a huge place, just a decent-sized unit where we manage the business side of our farming group. We started this because a few of us realized we could do more if we worked together instead of on our own. Ambad is a busy area, so being in the Mahada Colony helps us stay close to the transport links we need. Inside the gala, we keep our tools, some supplies, and all the paperwork that comes with running a producer company. It’s often a bit cluttered with bags of seed or equipment that needs fixing. We aren't trying to look like a big corporation with shiny floors. We’re just local farmers trying to get a better handle on our sales and supplies. Most days involve someone stopping by to talk about their crop or to see what supplies we have in stock. We don't have a receptionist; usually, whoever is nearest the door just looks up from what they're doing. It’s a very hands-on way to run things. The weather and the market prices are our main topics of conversation. We try to keep the overhead low so more goes back to the people doing the actual work in the fields. It’s a straightforward operation, and we like it that way. We’re just part of the local scene here in Ambad, trying to make it work.
