Vayunandan Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of R 113 in Kanlad, which is part of the Niphad taluka. This is mostly grape country, and we are right in the middle of it. Our little spot in Kanlad (Mala) is where we meet to talk about the harvest and whatever else is going on with the farms. We don't have a fancy corporate office with air conditioning. It’s just a room where we can sit down and look at the numbers. Most of us spend more time in the fields than at the desk anyway. Niphad is a busy place for agriculture, and we wanted to make sure we had a say in how our produce is handled. Vayunandan Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is our way of doing that. We are just a bunch of farmers who realized that we could do more together than we could separately. It’s not always smooth sailing. There are disagreements and the weather is always a worry, but we manage. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to make sure the farmers in Kanlad get a fair shake. If you come by R 113, you might find us drinking tea and talking about the next season. It’s a very local, very simple way of doing things. We just care about the land and making sure we can keep farming for years to come. It takes a lot of work to keep things running, but we are all in this together.
