Working out here at Post Dapur is quite different from being in the big city. Things move at a slower pace at Siddhi Vinayak Agro Industries, which is mostly just fine by us. We’re surrounded by fields, so you really feel the seasons changing as the crops come in and go out. The building we have here is sturdy but it’s definitely seen some weather over the years. We spend our mornings checking on the machines and seeing what needs fixing after the night shift. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning or fancy carpets. We have concrete floors that we sweep out every evening and a small area where we keep the records. Most of the people working here are from the nearby village, so everyone knows each other’s business. We talk about the rain a lot because it matters for the harvest. Sometimes the power goes out for a few hours and we just sit outside and wait it out. It’s a simple way of life, focusing on the agro work and making sure the products are handled right. We don’t have a big marketing department. It’s just us doing the processing and the packing. The road to Dapur can be a bit bumpy after a storm, but we’re used to it. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough through the whole year without any fuss.
