Running Shop No.3 here at Pratibha Sankul is a lot of work every single day. We are right across from Karan Talav in Nashik, so we get a good breeze sometimes when the weather is right. I spend most of my time checking on stock and making sure everything is ready for the customers who walk in. It gets really busy in the evenings when people are out walking near the pond. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have shelves that we built ourselves and the floor always needs a good sweep because of the dust from the road. I’ve lived in Nashik my whole life, so I know most of the people who come in by their first names. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. Word spreads by itself when someone likes what they bought. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic on the main road, and that can be a bit stressful, but that’s just how business is. My family helps out when they can, especially during the festival seasons when things get really hectic. It’s a simple life, mostly spent inside these four walls or standing out front talking to the neighbors. If you’re ever near the lake, you’ll probably see our sign. We keep things pretty basic here, just trying to make a living and providing what the local folks need for their kitchens and daily meals without any unnecessary fuss.
