Shri Matoba Maharaj Farmers Producer Company Limited

Over in Naitale, in the Niphad area, we started this producer company. Our main spot is at Ganpat Balkrushna Borgude’s house, number 132. We are a bunch of local farmers who grow mostly what you’d expect from this part of the country, like grapes and onions. Farming is what we know, but the business side of things can be very tricky for one person to handle alone. That’s why we got together. We meet up to talk about the soil and what the market is doing this week. It’s not some big operation with a lot of staff in suits. It’s just us, the people who are actually out in the fields every day in the sun. We share what we know and try to get a better price for our crops. Sometimes we have meetings to decide on what to plant next or how to deal with the latest pests that are bothering the plants. It’s a very local thing, and everyone involved lives right here in the neighborhood. We don't have much in the way of fancy equipment in our little office, but we have plenty of experience with the land. Most of us have been doing this for decades. It is a tough life, but we take pride in what we grow here. We just want to make sure our hard work actually leads to something good for our kids. It is a slow process but we are sticking to it.
