We’re over in Vadner, in the Nasik district, based at Hiraman Dharma Jadhav’s place. Shivmosam Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically just us locals trying to get a better handle on the farming business. Nasik is known for its agriculture, but that doesn't mean it’s easy for the small guy. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather, hence the name we picked. If the season is good, we’re happy, but we have to prepare for when it isn't. Our office is just a spot in the house where we keep our records and meet up. We don't have any staff in suits. It’s just the same people you see out in the fields every day. We talk about seeds, fertilizers, and where to sell our stuff without losing money. It’s practical, everyday stuff. We try to help out when someone’s tractor breaks down or when the market prices take a dip. It’s about sticking together in a place like Vadner. We’ve all lived here a long time and we know the struggles. There’s no need for a big corporate image when you’re just trying to make sure the crops get sold and the bills get paid.
