Shetakari Green Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Malegaon, specifically at 32, Shripad Vallabha Society in Soygaon. This is the Malegaon Camp area of Nashik district. We are just a bunch of local growers who decided to stop working separately and start working as one group. The society office is where we handle all the boring stuff like taxes and government forms. Mostly, you’ll find us out in the fields around Soygaon. We call it Shetakari Green because we care about the land and want to keep it healthy for a long time. It’s not a fancy business with a big budget. We started with just a few of us and some basic equipment. Sometimes the rains are late, or the market is just bad, and those are the days we really lean on each other. We don't have any experts or high-paid consultants. We just use what we’ve learned from our fathers and what we see happening in the soil every day. It’s a lot of work, and there aren't many holidays, but it feels good to be in control of our own produce. We don't talk about being the best or anything like that. We just try to be honest and get the crops sold for a fair price. It’s a simple goal, but it keeps us busy enough throughout the whole year. We are just people from the camp area trying to make farming sustainable.
