Our group, Saundane Krushi Unnati Farmers Producer, is based right in Soundane, Nashik. You’ll find us over at Sanjay Laxman Pawar’s place. We’re just local people who have been working the land here for as long as we can remember. We didn't set this up to be some big corporate entity with a lot of rules. It’s more of a way for us to stick together and make the farming side of things a little less stressful. Nashik is famous for its agriculture, but that doesn't mean it’s easy. There are always challenges with the weather or the markets. Having this company helps us share the load a bit. Our office is just a simple room where we keep our files and meet up when there’s something important to discuss. It’s definitely not polished. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty from the fields, and the chairs don't all match. But it’s where the real work gets done. We focus on what’s happening in our own backyard here in Soundane. If someone needs help with their seeds or figuring out where to sell their harvest, they come to us. We don't have a fancy website or big posters. We just talk to each other and work through the problems as they come up. It’s a very local way of doing things, and that’s exactly how we like it. We just keep our heads down and work.
