You can find us over at Gatno 575, which is near the Shetki San area on the Old Otur Road in Kalwan. This part of Nashik is where we all live and work. Saptashikhar Ek Shetkari is the name we put on the papers, but to everyone here, we are just the local farming group. Nashik is famous for its agriculture, and we are just one small part of that big picture. We stay busy with whatever the season demands. Sometimes that means being out in the fields for twelve hours, and other times we are sitting near the road waiting for trucks to arrive. We do not have a polished office with air conditioning. We mostly meet outside or in the storage area. It is a group of farmers who wanted to have a bit more control over how our stuff gets sold. We share the costs of transport and help each other out when someone is short-handed. The ground in Kalwan is good to us if we work hard enough. We do not use any fancy marketing tricks. We just tell people what we have and try to get a fair price for the hard work we put in. It is a simple way of living, and we have all been doing it long enough to know there are no shortcuts. We just take it day by day and hope for rain.
