Our office is located at Shiv Shankar Niwas in Indira Nagar. If you are coming through Ghoti, you just look for that area in the Igatpuri taluka. It’s actually a house where we have set up our workspace. It feels more like a home than a regular office building, which is nice in its own way. We are out here in the Nashik district, so the weather is often a bit cooler than the big cities, especially during the monsoon season. We do engineering work, mostly focusing on the local infrastructure around this part of Maharashtra. There are trees around the building and it’s a quiet neighborhood compared to the main market area. We start our day early, usually with a quick talk about what needs to get done on the sites. Most of the staff lives nearby, so some people walk to work or take a short bike ride. The room we work in has big windows that let in a lot of light, though we have to keep them shut when it rains hard. It’s a practical place without any extra decorations. We have our maps and charts pinned to the walls. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog barks during our meetings, but we are used to it by now. The house itself has an old gate that squeaks a bit when you open it. We keep some of our larger engineering equipment in the shed out back. It’s a very quiet and focused atmosphere most days.
