Ravi Grain Merchant

Ravi Grain Merchant is located in Ravi Arcade, which is over in Ravi Nagar in the Karatwara area. Our specific spot is Office No-201-A in the Wing. Being on the second floor means we don't get the same foot traffic as the shops on the ground, but it’s a bit quieter for doing the paperwork. Most of the work involves talking to suppliers and keeping track of the grain markets. We deal with a variety of pulses and grains, so there is always a lot to remember. The office is usually filled with the smell of samples that people bring in to show us. Karatwara is a busy place, and the Ravi Arcade building stays pretty active throughout the day with people coming and going from the different offices. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at the computer to see how prices are changing. It’s not the kind of job where you get your hands dirty every minute, but it is steady. Sometimes we head down to the loading areas to check on a shipment, but mostly we stay up in 201-A. We’ve been in Ravi Nagar for a while, and we know the other merchants in the building quite well. It’s a community of people all doing similar things. We just try to keep our books straight and make sure the grain moves where it’s supposed to go without too much trouble.
