Down in Sinnar, at H. No 252 in Shivdetal, you’ll find the Ranragini Sinnar Womens Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s run mostly from Lankabai Namdev Wagh’s home. This is a group of women from the village who all have our own plots of land. We realized a while back that if we talk to each other, we can get things done a bit faster. Farming is hard on your back and even harder on your wallet if you’re doing it all by yourself. We spend our mornings in the fields and then maybe meet up later to talk about who is buying what. It’s not like those big city businesses you see on TV. We have kids to look after and houses to run, so the company is just a way to make the farming side of things a little more organized. Sinnar is a good place, but you have to work for everything you get. We deal with whatever the weather throws at us. Sometimes the crops are great, and sometimes we just have to try again next season. We don't have any polished slogans or anything. We just want to make sure our families are okay and the land stays healthy. Being at House 252 makes it easy for everyone to drop by and sign whatever needs signing. It’s just us working hard every day, hoping the next harvest is a bit better than the last.
