Our group, Rajgad Shetkari Vikas Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located at Gn.509 Pn.16 in Swami Samart Nagar. This is over in the Adgaon area of Nashik district. Even though Nashik is growing fast and the city is getting closer, we are still focused on the farming side of things. We use this spot in Swami Samart Nagar as our base. It’s where the paperwork gets done and where we meet to talk about the soil and the fertilizers. Most of us are Shetkari who have seen the area change a lot over the years. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are sold. In Adgaon, we have some good land, but you have to work it hard to get anything back. We are just regular people, not some big corporate entity. Our hands are usually dirty and we are often tired, but we keep going. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment in the office, just the basics to keep things organized. We share the costs of the transport and the seeds so that we can all survive the bad months. It is a local effort by local people. We just want to grow our crops and look after our families without too much outside interference. It's a simple goal for a busy life.
