Pokhari Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Bhagwan Laxman Shinde’s place at House Number 293. We’re located in Pokhari, which is part of the Jafrabad taluka. This company is really just a group of us local farmers who got together to make things a bit easier for everyone involved. When you’re farming on your own, it’s really easy to get pushed around by the market prices. By being a producer company, we have a bit more say in how things go for us. We aren’t fancy people. Most of the time, our boots are covered in mud and we’re thinking about the rain or the bugs in the fields. We use Bhagwan’s house to keep our records and meet up to talk about the business. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing department with people on phones. We just have our land and each other. Being in Jafrabad, we know the local conditions well. We grow what works here and we try to do it right. If you come looking for us, you’ll find a bunch of guys who care about their work and their community. We don't use a lot of corporate talk. We just tell you what's happening with the crops and the market. It’s an honest living, even if it’s tough some years. We just keep at it, season after season, hoping for a good harvest. That’s all we really want.
